Zone In Campaign feat. Durriwiyn
I had a really fun gig towards the end of last year. Some friends at flip media had a campaign for TMAA (Transport Management Association of Australia) trying to encourage people to slow down and stay alert when driving through roadworks. Their idea was to have a young bloke driving distracted through a roadworks zone, and have a surreal traffic worker dance party spring up around him. They came to me to write and produce the song.
After some creative chats about the concept, I demoed four totally different songs for them - a bit of rock and roll, some soul, a dance anthem - but the one that stuck was this hyped D&B banger.
I worked with Durriwiyn and Shem Allen to get the vocals down, and the creative team liked Durriwiyn so much that they got him also to star in the video.
Here’s the final product:
You can also listen to the track on Spotify and there’s a whole lot more to the campaign at zonein.org.au, like merch and a quiz.
